Taking Women, Survivors, & Government Institutions Seriously
Wednesday, October 10, 2018 | 3:30 PM | Hart Auditorium, McDonough Hall, Georgetown University Main Campus
Sponsored by the Georgetown University Women’s Legal Alliance, Women of Color Collective, Advocates Against Sexual Violence, and Gender+ Justice Initiative.
Please join members of the Georgetown Law community for a candid conversation about sexual violence, gender, the power of women, and our government institutions. The event will begin with a short panel discussion from professors and students on topics ranging from the Senate confirmation process to gender-based credibility discounting. The panel will be followed by an open mic session for students and faculty alike to share their experiences and thoughts before breaking out into small group discussions. We hope all community members can come together in this unique moment to heal, share, and grow.
Speakers:
- Professor Deporah Epstein on gender-based credibility discounting
- Professor Robin West on the institutional deterioration of SCOTUS
- Professor Victoria Nurse on Senate confirmation proceedings
- … and more
