Supporting and nurturing research related to intersectional issues of gender, racial, and economic justice issues is one of G+JI’s main objectives. Through various programs, we support research and impactful projects that address and advance intersectional gender justice.
The G+JI offers year-long fellowships to support research projects by Georgetown faculty and students. Fellows receive research support and are part of an intellectual community of scholars across disciplines and career stages whose research intersects with gender+ issues.

G+JI invites intersectional feminist thought-leaders, activists, and artists from around the globe to serve as Researchers in Residence. This 2-year residency provides research support and opportunities to disseminate work and collaborate with the Georgetown community on projects related to gender+ justice.

The G+JI Research Colloquium is a yearly opportunity to bring together faculty and scholars from across Georgetown’s campuses to showcase their research related to issues of gender, racial, and economic justice.

The #MeToo Research Collaboration is a partnership between G+JI and the Massive Data Institute, a large-scale effort to characterize the first year of the movement by analyzing Tweets with the #MeToo hashtag.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, G+JI launched the Faculty Mentoring Program to pair Georgetown senior and junior faculty who work on similar issues across campuses and disciplines. The program provided exchange, collaboration, and support between scholars as well as practical advice on dealing with personal and academic challenges.
