One of the signature events of the Georgetown Gender+ Justice Initiative are our annual colloquia, these are opportunities to bring together faculty and scholars from across Georgetown’s three DC campuses to showcase their research on intersectional gender justice.
Presentations engage topics from varied perspectives and methodologies. The panels consist of 10-15 minute presentations and discussions. Explore our past colloquia below.
The 2021 G+JI Colloquium was held on April 8 and 9, with cross-campus panels on Anti-racism and Gender Justice in Health Care, Centering Marginalized Voices and Experiences, and Achieving Intersectional Gender Justice Through Policy
The 2019 G+JI Colloquium was held on October 25, with cross-campus panels on Gender+ Justice in and through Education, Public Health Gender+ Justice – Activism and Policy Impact, and Navigating Intersectional Identities – Space, Race and Politics
The 2018 G+JI Colloquium was held on November 9, with cross-campus panels on #MeToo and Women in the Workplace, Intersectionality: Gender+, and Access to Health & Justice.
The 2017 G+JI Colloquium was held on October 13, with cross-campus panels on Intersectional Gender Justice, the Racialized and Gendered Body, and Change Agents and the Possibility of Remaking the Future.
The 2016 G+JI Colloquium was held on September 23, with cross-campus panels on What Difference does Sex Difference Make?, Gender-Based Violence: Local & Global. and Intersectional Gender Justice.
