Research Colloquium 2026

The Gender+ Justice Initiative presents its eighth Research Colloquium!

Thursday, October 8, 2025 | 12:00 PM – 6:15 PM – Reception after 5:15 PM | Location: Maria & Alberto De La Cruz Art Gallery, 3535 Prospect St NW, Washington, DC 20007

We are delighted to invite you to our Annual Research Colloquium, now in its eighth year. Join faculty, postdoctoral fellows, and graduate students from across Georgetown and neighboring universities for a day of interdisciplinary dialogue on gender, racial, and economic justice.

CALL FOR PROPOSALS

We welcome proposals from faculty and graduate students across Georgetown campuses and from DC/MD/VA region universities. We encourage work at all stages — from initial concepts to completed papers — and especially invite submissions from scholars from marginalized communities, including people of color, women, disabled, and LGBTQ+ individuals.

Our aim is to curate gender-focused, interdisciplinary panels based on the submissions, with presentations lasting 8 to 10 minutes each, followed by discussion with the audience. The day will conclude with a reception, providing ample opportunity for networking and further dialogue.
