In honor of Black History Month, join us in welcoming Reverend Jacqui Lewis, for a discussion on her latest book Fierce Love – A Bold Path to Ferocious Courage and Rule-Breaking Kindness that Can Heal the World (Penguin Random House 2021).

Moderated by Rev. William Lamar, pastor of Metropolitan African Methodist Episcopal Church in Washington DC, and Ruby Sales, social justice activist, scholar, and public theologian.

Fierce Love is a healing manifesto for our divisive culture, full of evocative storytelling, spiritual wisdom, and essential daily practices—by the first woman, Black senior minister at the historic Collegiate Churches of New York.

About the author:

Rev. Dr. Jacqui Lewis, Ordained in the Presbyterian Church (USA), Dr. Lewis is the first African American and first woman to serve as senior minister in the Collegiate Church, which was founded in New York City in 1628. She earned her M.Div. at Princeton Theological Seminary and her Ph.D. in Psychology and Religion at Drew University, and has been adjunct faculty at Princeton Theological Seminary, Union Theological Seminary, The Graduate Theological Union, New Brunswick Theological Seminary, and Wesley Theological Seminary.
