Georgetown University Wikipedia Edit-a-thon 2026

Friday, March 27, 2026 | 2:00pm – 4:00pm ET | Office of Student Equity and Inclusion (OSEI) at the Garden Level of Healey Family Student Center | RSVP (Registration required)

Hosted by Massive Data Institute at Georgetown University
Co-Sponsored by Gender+ Justice Initiative, Initiative on Tech & Society, Georgetown University Library, Women’s Center at Georgetown University; Wikimedia District of Columbia, and the Wikimedia Foundation.

Join the Georgetown community for the 3rd Annual Wikipedia Edit-a-thon to help close the gender gap on Wikipedia by increasing the representation of underrepresented groups — in both content and contributors — on topics such as women in politics, women in STEM, and women in the arts.

As part of a collaboration across the university, Georgetown University is also partnering with Wikimedia District of Columbia and the Wikimedia Foundation to host the second annual Wikipedia Edit-a-thon for Women’s History Month. This year’s program occurs during Georgetown University’s Tech & Society Week 2026.

No Wikipedia editing experience is necessary; there will be hands-on training provided by representatives from Wikimedia DC.
Bring your own laptop & charger.
Snacks provided.
Raffle prizes will be awarded throughout the event (but you must be present to win)!

Accommodation requests can be made via the registration form.
