In September 2020, nonconsensual sterilizations and abuses on immigrant women were reported by a whistleblower, Dawn Woolen, a long-time nurse in Irwin federal immigration detention center in Georgia. This panel discussion will give an overview of patterns of gendered violence practices taking place in (ICE) detention centers as well as shed light on how activist and advocacy groups are fighting to address the issue.
